Ripples of Pain

Echoes of Heartache

When words cut deep, like shattered glass,

And hearts once whole, now broken pass,

The weight of hurt, a heavy stone,

Presses upon the soul, alone.

----------------------------------------------

In moments lost, we search for peace,

But memories of pain won't cease,

Echoes of what we've said and done,

Haunt us, beneath the setting sun.

----------------------------------------------

With every tear, a lesson learned,

That hurtful words can never be burned,

Their scars remain, a constant ache,

A reminder of the love we'll forsake.

-----------------------------------------------

In fragile bonds, we find our strength,

But careless words can cause such length,

Of sorrow, regret, and endless night,

A chasm wide, where love takes flight.

A reminder to think twice, then twice more before we open our mouths. This resonates a truth that must needs be spoken. Well done.
