🌳 Rings Are Years, Cracks Are Trauma

Triumph beyond the actions, blended away.

Digging painfully amidst the ruins, seeking what once was.

Searching endlessly—hopefully hopeful.

The desire to find what was lost,

to regain control of emotion-filled memories.

The loss now embodied in fields of ashen ruins,

strewn about in a desperate attempt to reconstruct,

to reconcile,

to re-create.

Create now—not what once was—

what is.

What will be.

Begin again; each day, begin again.

Hopeful to love enough to hurt,

to recreate loss knowing it always follows gain.

To sow seeds and wait patiently for a single flower to emerge,

only to watch its petals wilt and drift away.

Craving joy, peace, and happiness is something deep within us.

In that craving, this means we crave the inverse—

the pain, and hurt, and loss which always accompany.

Fear not sadness—hope for it.

Know it will soon be replaced

as the circle of living continues.

Like a nice long jackpine sonnet. Nicely chiseled.
