Right Under Your Nose
The scent, and also the solution to the conundrum

What rhymes with lasagna? Pray tell me if you know,
I want polychromic recipes I can layer as I go-
Spanish orange is naranja, gray in Italy is grigio,
The color works for crullers, but gray makes sad lumps of dough.
I'll rouge me up a salsa roja, but not for a blanc mange,
I'd add mufete from Angola, but it would taste rather strange,
Ladle saucy sauce right on your gnocchi, add meatballs just for weight,
But there's no rhyme for lasagna, so it's hard to contemplate.
Give me your cucumbers, and I'll take your aubergine,
I'll zoodle them to noodles for a taste that's mighty keen,
We could toke on marijuana as we crank the pasta maker,
But no rhyme for veg lasagna makes me want to be a baker.
A dash of mustard heightens flavor, queso blanco is divine,
You might not be sanguine on blood oranges, but trust me, they're so fine,
Some sukuma bought in Kenya with ugali is delish,
But no rhymes for my lasagna make your faces go purplish.
Whether fusion, tavern, haute cuisine; avant-garde or classic style,
My culinary passion dish will drive your taste buds wild,
My gumbo will amaze you, a taste you will not roux,
But a real rhyme for lasagna makes me cry “Sacré bleu!”
