a reunion

‘Twas October long ago

but not so long ago

there you were

intriguing

beautiful

mysterious

going on of your days in the gutter

smoking cigarettes

smiling at me with your entire being

so it felt

so deep into my soul

no one could know what was about to begin

how our lives would soon be altered by one another

countless days were sworn to secrecy

bottles were consumed in secrecy

talk of running away

a drunken vegas wedding

sexual desire like non other

i would adorn you forevermore

our time spent together was fleeting

the most monumental moments my life will ever see

the most elegant, grimy, seductive, fiend i’d ever see

you drew me in

some months later this world stopped

plague

some years have passed

our lives have changed

you got me out of your system

he says

as if

buried feelings of love

of longing

of obsession

have slithered out from my dungeon of a heart

everlong

we’re amy and peter

we’re meant to be

we’ll never be

please

i’m begging

please

on my knees

always on her knees

come find me again

soon

love poems
