revisiting goodbye

the final goodbye is not necessarily the first

You were so eager to leave me

That you did not even kiss me goodbye.

Your best relationship,

the person you adore to this day.

-Those were your words not mine.

Before this incident,

I never paid much attention to Goodbyes.

They say a lot,

though.

About who we are as people.

About how we value our loved ones.

& that Goodbye,

knowing you would not be coming back,

told me I was just another of your individuals.

Robbed of an embrace & any semblance of passion.

Nothing.

By that point,

You felt nothing.

You had said Goodbye months ago.
