Years Between Visits

Dreams that come and go
Like water and like snow.
They return, but they have changed.
They’ve been more than rearranged.
I know you tattered cat -
2D, ragged, and flat.
It’s been years since you’ve come here;
Now, toward you, I have no fear.
There’s something about familiarity,
Bringing with it a new layer of clarity.
It’s curious to think I didn’t know when I went to bed
That I’d revisit an old realm inside my head.
