Return of Sanity

An original poem

By Jason APublished 12 months ago 1 min read

For far too long

The pendulum did sway

Toward and ever-increasing debauchery

As we collectively lost our way

----------

Some cold and depraved

Some perhaps just controlled

No matter the case

They thought we would fold

----------

They mocked valued mores

They tore down traditions

And all of the masses

They sought to condition

----------

But the tide has turned

And truths that faced scorn

Have climbed out of darkness

And been reborn

----------

Normalcy and sense

Has finally returned

To the land of the free

And the millions who yearned

----------

Now that sanity is back

May we hold it dear

Never losing it again

Nor giving in to fear
