If I write one more poem about

a love that was not mutual,

I may retire my pen,

hang up my papers,

find a way to

be a poet

without

you.

That last bit- find a way to be a poet without you- is so layered! Excellent entry!

  • Gosh, it was beautiful.

The wonderful thing about the journey of loving oneself is there will be plenty to write about 😉. Love the vulnerability in this work. Great job. 👏

  • Your words carry a profound sense of reflection and introspection, grappling with the idea of creativity and its ebb and flow. The imagery you use to describe the journey of your pen, from its vibrant beginnings to the contemplative desire for rest, resonates with a universal experience among creators.

GREAT poem. I found my way around "him" and while some of my poems maybe silly, he isn't included. Great thought.
