I will not mourn you.
Instead, I will hope
For an open casket with
Your pale visage on final display
Inside the cardboard packaging
Decorated for your cremation.
I will observe your inert form
And exhale.
I will not see you burn
But I will know
And I will hope
That the winds your ashes
Are scattered upon
Do not visit me.
