Respect

I hear the word respect a lot,

but I wonder what it means.

Does it mean the same to you,

as it does to me?

To me respect means empathy,

to listen and connect.

To me it means to monitor,

yourself and how you act.

To me it means to value,

the space of those around.

To me it means encourage,

the fallen ones to stand.

To me it means to recognise,

that uniqueness is a strength.

To me respects a luxury,

not something to expect.

Respect, to me, means many things,

as you can plainly see.

To define it's been quite difficult.
