Resonate; a Poem for Us

Upon our island smiles fade as salty splashes wash away hope, rising us to harboured truths

Wading within gritty futures, always believing sunsets bring sunrise in roses

Sifting through hues of then, building castles, burying them again

We listen to what soothes us in this tide, running from inevitable storms

Rainbows branch across horizons in the lulling dreams we fuel

Yet no one wakes to see them, for they are out of view
