Resolving to Relax
A Silly Poem on the Struggles of New Year Goals

New Year Resolutions, oh how grand
A time for change, a fresh new plan
But let's be real, they don't always stick
We make them with the best of intentions, but end up feeling sick
I'll eat healthier, and hit the gym
But somehow the donuts always win
I'll save more money, and pay off debt
But then the sales are just too hard to forget
I'll be more organized, and never procrastinate
But then the couch and Netflix just seem to sedate
I'll be kinder, and more patient too
But then someone cuts me off and I'm feeling blue
So let's not get too down on ourselves
We're only human, and we all need some help
Let's make resolutions that we can stick to
Like taking a walk, or calling a friend, or trying something new
And if we don't quite make it, that's okay
We can always try again another day
Here's to a happy and healthy new year
May all your resolutions come true, my dear
