She strives to see the beauty
Wherever she may walk
She likes to meet the townsfolk
And listen as they talk
She keeps an ear for music
To catch when it floats by
She keeps an eye for trouble
And another for to cry
She lends her hands when needed
And fingers for birds to rest
She admires the proud old oak trees
Dressed in autumnal best
She dances in the rainstorms
And twirls to thunder’s drum
She welcomes frosty dewdrops
And winter soon to come
She drifts on sweetened breezes
And huddles ‘gainst the gales
I’d like to meet her someday
And listen to her tales.
Happy New Year all.
