Replicable

And what happens if the arts aren't created by people anymore?

My tongue is bleeding words I cannot swallow

And I weep for the heart that once beat now hollow.

The devil isn't what I thought or who I hoped.

There's something to prove between doped

Up dreamers and stomped on fools

Unravelling like the last threads on the spool.

/

And I am drinking from day old coffee

Thinking that this skeleton key

Will be enough to destroy the marching army

Advancing on the river of human thought for glory.

Words and art and breath and memories

Have no place in computer-run realities.

/

I used to sleep on the blackest night beach

Where the stars and my dreams sat within reach.

I could taste them soft and sweet on my tastebuds

But now it seems my throat is coated in mud,

The mistake of believing humanity

Was something of a mystery.

This poem in particular centers around my personal distaste for AI being able to write, draw, act, whatever, and have it passed off as human. Something doesn't sit right with me about it. It should be its own category. It feels like a combination of cheating, plagiarism, and laziness. But more on that later.

Shadowed souls, cursed magic, poetry that tangles itself in your soul and yanks out the ugly darkness from within. Maybe there's something broken in me, but it's in you too.

Couldn't agree more! I hate that AI is getting so sophisticated and a lot of folks are just copying and pasting and passing it off as their own work/words/art. So not on. Nicely worded and wonderful poem, Silver Serpent 💕😊
