Renewal Amidst the Ruins
Rekindling Love in Overwhelmed Devastation

In shadows cast by love's fading light,
Lies a tale of a marriage, once burning bright.
Weary hearts, overwhelmed and heartbroken,
Where once joy danced, melancholy now intrudes.
Whispers of promises that were once full of
hope are now submerged in a sea of
hopelessness and mope.
A once-roaring flame now flickers weakly
as the first waves of anguish and doubt hit.
In the beginning, dreams intertwined,
Two souls joined, with futures aligned.
But burdens amassed and troubles ensued,
Weighing down the love that once imbued.
Days filled with battles, never-ending strife,
Each word a dagger, cutting through their life.
They wander aimlessly, longing to connect,
But walls of bitterness they fail to deflect.
Overwhelmed by the weight of broken dreams,
They search for solace in silent screams.
Devastation seeps into their every pore,
As they question what their hearts beat for.
Although everything is chaotic, there is still
a spark of hope and love.
If both hearts are willing to overcome the
difficulty, storms can pass and wounds can heal.
Faces streaked with tears, they stand at the
fork in the road, aware that they cannot
make that decision.
To let love to fall apart, to forget the past, or
to rescue what's left and finally start again.
The trip is difficult, wrought with stress, but
love endures, refusing to fade.
They beg for pardon with broken hearts and
heartfelt pleas, longing to be set free.
In vulnerability's embrace, they find a way,
To rebuild what's shattered, to let love hold sway.
For a devastated marriage can still find grace,
If both souls are willing to find a new place.
And so they begin, hand in hand, heart to heart,
Stitching back the pieces that were torn apart.
Overwhelmed no more, they face their fears,
With renewed commitment, wiping away the tears.
For love, resilient, can weather any storm,
If both souls are willing to transform.
In the depths of despair, hope can still thrive,
As they emerge, hand in hand, their love revived.
Their love did survive the chaos; they struggled through forgiving one another and remaining persistent. In the middle of the decaying wreckage, renewal emerged, reigniting the spark and pointing the way for their hearts. Together, they came out, their wounds transformed into works of art, and they were renewed and eager for a brand new start.

Love, relationships and marriages are never an easy thing. To me, it's the most difficult thing in the world. Both partners should be ready to put in their best effort to make sure nothing breaks. They need to work together. Beautiful poem!
I liked how personal it felt. Made me think of the relationships with exes.
Judging by the ending, this is somehow personal. I'm glad all worked out in the end.
