Reminiscing

By: Mary E Burnley

Coffee is brewing in the kitchen,

my arms are out to you reaching;

have the best blueberry muffins on the plate.

Conversation is waiting to be said.

Sit down,

it has been a long time since I have seen your face.

Sitting here

with melancholy in these eyes,

it has been to many days since you have been this way.

With you in my thoughts,

I return to yesterday and

there is so much that I need to say.

As coffee is brewing in the kitchen,

my mind is missing having you near.

Conversation is waiting to be said,

as I am here with only the memories of you going through my head.

I find myself reminiscing.
