In a world where memories can be sold,
And memories new can be bought and bold,
The students at this curious school,
Were taught how to trade and how to rule.
They learned to recall their fondest days,
And trade them in for newer, better ways.
For in this society, memories were wealth,
And those with the most were deemed best in health.
One student traded in her memories of youth,
For a trip to Paris and a new tooth.
Another swapped his memories of love,
For a car that could soar like a dove.
The professors, they took part as well,
Trading in their knowledge, they couldn't quell.
For in this world, memories were power,
And the more you had, the more you'd cower.
But soon, the students and faculty too,
Discovered that memories were not always true.
For as they traded and swapped back and forth,
Their past experiences lost all their worth.
So, they banded together, hand in hand,
To stop this trading, to take a stand.
And though it took time, they finally found,
That memories are too precious to be bought and sold.
So, if you're ever in this curious place,
Where memories are traded, with a smile on your face.
Just remember, the value lies within,
And true memories should always win.

I have recently discovered that I have a passion for writing. Short fiction stories and poems have been my focus thus far. I am looking for other areas to experiment in.
