Remind me
Why I should not return
I fell in love with my beautiful abuser
Declassifying and dissecting
My imperfections on his silver platter
He
Knew the freshness
of my innocence
Would be savory
Enough
The meal
he would bare my ribs to
Ego
He’d slide through and fork slowly
Into the crevices of what
He never wanted me to be
Complete
Beauty not that pretty
I’ve had better
Until I morphed
Into the best
you will never have again
Tell every woman who
Seems light enough
Thin enough
Pretty enough
That you can’t find me in them
Tell your solitude
you are at peace
with the demons I quieted
Tell the world
You cannot find love anywhere else
Except in who you loved
Into little pieces of who
She used to be
And that she is no longer
Malleable for manipulations
So she refuses to return
Say the truth
I wasn’t enough for someone
So whole
