When you’d look at someone or a picture of them
You’d be reminded of your lost ones
That’s how it was for me with you
When I see or touch things
I am instantly reminded of you
And how I wish it didn’t
Because when I remember you
It brings me so much pain
And the unbearable silence from you
That has grown so big over the years
I am left wondering what went wrong
And how did everything become this way
Why can’t we be together now?
I am still left with unanswered questions
And always will be
Why can’t I forget you?
I shouldn’t remember you.
But I always do.
