Remember Our Song

How could you ever forget ?

Remember Our Song

You played it once, just once for me

that quiet tune in minor key

a whisper low, a secret kept

that hummed beneath the nights we slept

I held your hand, I knew the notes

each one sank deep inside my throat

we didn’t speak, we didn’t need

the melody could make us bleed

You left the record by the door

dust gathered where you stood before

I never moved it, couldn’t bear

to see the space, to feel the air

The song still plays inside my mind

each word you meant, each chord in kind

but silence clings where music grew

and every echo ends with you

Love ended oh too soon

No happy ending no honeymoon

I guess we was never meant to be

yet still our song haunts me.

10+ Marie, another great poem for the gem box. 💗 "I held your hand, I knew the notes each one sank deep inside my throat" like every good love song should be
