When time has taken from me
all it plans to take
I hope I can recall
all the little things
that have made my seasons beautiful
I hope I can pass those
memories around
like well loved hand me downs
that you can cherish for awhile
greeting them like a friend
or the sunshine on your face
after weeks and weeks of gray
And if I cannot recall myself
Read back to me
from these battle worn pages
so that perhaps,
for a moment,
I can glimpse myself among
the gilded lilies
and remember...
