Home, more than where we live
It’s where our heart feels most at peace
Might be in a garden
Our hands in the warm dirt
Growing seeds and nurturing plants.
Could be in our living rooms
Curled up with a book
And cups of hot herbal tea.
That sense of home can also be
Time with friends
Family dinners
Could be in our neighborhood
Walking the aisles of our library
Enjoying a stroll and having an ice cream cone
Being greeted by our pets when we come through the door
Happiness, memories, relaxation
More than the building’s walls
Choice of decorations
A portrait of who we are
A sense of home will follow us
Wherever we go
As long as we remain true to ourselves.
