Release me from you gaze
Endymion’s plea

Selene, your eyes admire me in my sleep
Your gaze upon me from beyond my dreams
Your love for me in truth is ever deep
Through dedication never to decline
Each night you hold me fast within your thrall
My sleeping form you cradle in your glow
In endless deep repose you own my all
Your plea by Zeus affirmed now holds me so
But have you ever thought of how I yearn
For wakeful day to wander pasture green
To shepherd flock at graze my wage to earn
To dine and drink and rest by babbling stream
Yet I am bound by sleep that may not cease
I am your captive never to release

Poetic mythology. Nice! ⚡💙 Bill⚡
What a poem and what a classic it's to become. I can picture college students reading and discussing this poem in a Writing or English course. Great job.
Yayyyyy you you've published this poem! It's soooo beautiful!
Your work already feels so special, but it also sparked a few ideas in my head little things that could make it even more magical. If you’re open to discussing, I’d love to share them.
