Sun-jewelled bespeckled droplets dance on mirrored light
Dappled shafts of rainbow-arced symmetries of life
Nested on the moss-covered cliff tops of wayward walks
Wheeling Petrels storm through my mind, squawking, razor-billed
Piercing, knife-edged pain sears into my soul melting my mind
Threatening to swipe the earth from beneath me, paralyzing
The mortality that I feel endlessly shimmering in the candlelit
Focus of my mind edging closer to the drop; plummeting
Blindly, the tattooed weal on my heart, the rhythm of life
Beating like a drum, hum-drumming on my brain, stop
Let me breathe, take my hand, lead me away from the abyss
That I have let you draw me into, vortexed into obscurity
Baying for blood, not content until you suck my gizzards out
Sheep’s eyes pecked clean, the socket wide and gaping
Like the hole in my heart that you ripped apart with your smile
Evil in its intention washing over me, draining my life away
Sucking the world away from me as you drawl and salivate
At my misfortune as you mould me into putty, pliable and soft
In your expert grasp, choking me. Please, let me free
And like a butterfly, let me flutter into the breeze and fly away
