Rejoice despite!

Though I gaze, though I stare,

Though I wrestle about with what I care,

Though I push through restless ways,

My joy resides, my thankfulness stays,

Though I may doubt, though I may not perceive,

Though it may be hard for me to believe,

Though such sorrows may test my reigns,

My heart is glad despite the pains,

Though I wander, though I grieve,

Though my pain makes it hard for me to perceive,

Though such afflictions and pain may say despite,

My gladness is filled, my greatest delight,

Though I endure, though I persist,

Though doors may close and the world would resist,

Though I endure such restless nights,

My heart gives thanks as it wages its fights,

Though I toil, though I labor,

Though such a burden comes in seemingly endless measure,

Though such work may try to make me weary, so steep,

My heart does not falter, for soon I shall reap!
