Rejection Letters

I thought it would get better

Kept sending them in

But things were looking dim

That is the nature of these things

Did my best

But seems like they were putting me to the test

Thought the next one would be better than the rest

Hopefully I will never lose my zest

Not going to let this thing fester

Must be someone wanting to be a tester

Kept submitting

But didn’t want to do any admitting

Wasn’t striving for perfection

But might have needed some correction

Maybe a bit of redirection

Certainly some detection

I have to admit it might be hard to submit

Will have to think about it for a bit

Not sure if it will be a fit

Or if they think I have the gift

Might be difficult to try again

Don’t want to have to defend

But might have to write something and send

This time I will use a pen

Didn’t have any preferences

But nothing was selected

Usually rejected

It was a shame they couldn’t be intercepted

Or maybe redirected

There were never any acceptance letters

Always plenty of rejection letters

For Fun
