Regret and Sorrow

When Love Leaves a Wound

By LauraPublished 3 years ago 1 min read

Regret and sorrow, an endless sea,

When you're no longer here with me.

A pain that cuts, so deep and true,

Leaves a mark that nothing can undo.

Regret and sorrow, a heavy load,

As memories flash, like a dark road.

I wish I'd said, I wish I'd done,

To keep you close, to be as one.

But now you're gone, and I'm alone,

A heavy heart, with seeds unsewn.

I try to forget, but still, I ache,

For the moments lost, that I can't remake.

Regret and sorrow, a bitter pill,

Leaves a wound that time won't heal.

But in my heart, I'll keep you near,

And hold on tight, to what I hold dear.

For though you're gone, and I'm in pain,

I know that love will still remain.

And in the end, I'll find my way,

And face the dawn, of a brand new day.
