Reflections Unbroken

A woman growing inside

By Katie L. KashanPublished 12 months ago 1 min read

Reflections Unbroken

You stand there gleaming, polished, proud,

Your voice a storm, your gaze a shroud.

A mirror’s edge, your chosen stage,

A mask of charm to hide the rage.

I see you now—your fractured light,

A puzzle built to steal the night.

You cast your doubts like heavy chains,

But I’ve unlearned the weight of pain.

No longer trapped in webs you weave,

No longer fooled by what I grieve.

Your words once carved me, sharp as glass,

But time has taught me: wounds will pass.

I face your shadow, tall and cruel,

Unraveling the tyrant’s rule.

Your power fades, a fleeting mist,

No longer bound by clenched-fist twists.

For in your gaze, I’ve found my own—

A truth that blooms where fear had grown.

Your mirror cracks, it cannot hold,

When faced with courage, calm and bold.

So here I stand, no more afraid,

Your tricks revealed, your power swayed.

The brightest light, I’ve come to learn,

Is one you cannot steal or burn.
