A Poem About Love in the Forest

Under the stars I wandered

Until I found peace among the longleaf pines

I stood somewhere deep within the forest

Cold wind blowing in my hair

I wore the gown that I wore when we first met

When I first found the peace of the forest

I lied on my back and looked at the moon

Gazing into a face much like yours

I wondered if you'd awoken yet

And were wondering where I was

As the first raindrop fell

The storm rolled in and I heard you run out and call my name

I was there in the forest

You followed my voice – my song

As I danced in the rain

You found me and you stared in wonder for a moment

Then you danced with me as the lightning flashed

And the thunder roared

Our love is nothing without the risks that make it worthwhile

That night seems so long ago

When we danced in the rain

Under the stars and the pines

And you told me that I was beautiful

Because we now dance under the stars and everywhere else

And we love each other like nothing before

And you always tell me that I am beautiful

But I will never forget

That stormy night

The first time

You said you loved me

About the Creator

Maia Gadwall the metAlchemist

I fell in love with speculative fiction and poetry many years ago, but I have precious little time to write any. Then, I went crazy and started a cult called metAlchemy, or meta alchemy. I revere energy of all brands, esp. good, kind chaos.

I wonder what your ‘forest’ is. This is good.
