I tried to write about colours
But which one should I choose?
A vibrant burst of orange?
Or the soft caress of blues?
Of course I have my favourites;
I hold in such esteem.
From the lightning bolts in purple,
To an ever friendly green!
Or I might prefer a contrast,
A simple black and white.
They could represent the light and dark
Remaining present in my heart.
I suspect I am akin to colours,
Askew about the painting
A flurry of expression
The culmination of my making.
So if I write about colours,
I dare not choose but one.
For I am all the colours
You see beneath the sun.
About the Creator
Curtis Hoogstraten
I ended up gaining the confidence to write poetry after a best man speech. The reactions to that speech were far more positive that I would have ever imagined.
Just starting small!
