Reflection
A poem acknowledging my past mental health struggles and the power gained when I recognised that I deserved to take care of my well-being. This is a journey of self-love and recovery and opting for a life of passion, joy and kindness to myself.

"I look into the mirror and I smile at myself."
I look into the mirror and I smile at myself, a greeting kind of smile you'd give to somebody else.
An acknowledgement for one's life, an appreciation for one's life.
Face to face, a glint in her eye and a pleasure to see this girl smiling inside.
That wasn't always the case you see, As she sent shivers all over me.
A fright, a scare, with tears streaming down her cheeks, she could hardly speak.
She pulls at her hair and screams into the air, i'm scared of the girl that stood right there.
I now look into the mirror and I smile at myself, as it's much easier than seeing somebody else.
