In the absence of your gaze,

The mirror stands unadorned,

No trace of light or shadow,

No reflection to be adorned.

The glass lies still and silent,

Without your face to behold,

No echo of your laughter,

No story left untold.

But in this emptiness,

I see a different view,

A mirror of the heart,

Reflecting me and you.

For though the glass is featureless,

And void of all that's true,

It holds our memories,

In the absence of you.

And in this reflection,

I find a love that's pure,

A bond unbroken by distance,

A connection that endures.

So though the mirror may be empty,

And the void may cause me pain,

I'll find you in the absence,

And know you're with me again.
