Red Stained Walls

Painting with Red

By Josie Del VallePublished 4 years ago 1 min read

Do you know what it means to stain the walls red? I Do, and it's all I think about; My own red splattered walls.

See, I look around, and honestly can't believe there's ANY room left to stain. But you proved me wrong.

And as it runs, it's damaging all the same.

What's funny is from the outside you can't tell a damn thing;

You can't tell about the stained walls on the inside that will NEVER be white again. You can't see the fresh splatter, that's still forming ruby red tear drops; Cascading ever so slowly down the walls, because it never does run fast.....

And from the outside it appears normal. Hidden behind the beautiful curtains, decorative shutters, and colorful flower beds.

I remember you telling me red was a good color on me....Why?

You said it brought out the blue in my eyes; Made them pop.

Now I wonder,

Did the rain make it clearer for you to see through the window panes?

Did you look in through the windows of my soul, and fall in love with the red stained walls?

Did it intrigue you to want to add your own splatter to the collection?

I don't know what to think.

I've tried scrubbing the stains in the past, but they don't leave.

Eventually they fade to pink, and you learn to appreciate them in a new light. It's all you can do really; They never really disappear.

Each stain etched eternally into the walls.

There's hope as they fade.....Until someone decides to throw a fresh can.

Now I have to sit here just watching, waiting, for the paint to dry.

Waiting to figure out what I want to do.

Waiting to see if I will EVER find a bleach strong enough to make the walls clean again.

Waiting.....
