Ah, the season when the curtain is drawn
Believing yourselves to rule all that is
Cannot be easy when strange things emerge
Damnable hubris is your pandemic
Even the stars know you think you own them
For creatures like me, this is the season!
Goblins are born to play tricks on vain fools
Humans are surely cleverer than most
Intelligence, though, is not real wisdom
Jokes and riddles and puzzles are my trade
Killing you with them is a font of joy!
Look at my cap, dyed with your veins’ liquor
Mark its mute testimony to my skill
Never have I failed to trick a poor rube
Out of his money, his mind or his life
Perhaps you will spy, as Samhain draws near
Queer beings like me, creeping through the leaves
Reflect, if you do, upon how things are
So much eludes your smug understanding
Take a moment to become more humble
Under and over, before and behind
Variegated beings exist, unseen
Wonders and terrors innumerable
X-rays make the skeletons I know laugh!
Yetis like puns; gargoyles enjoy chess games
Zombies could teach you some things about phones

These spooky themed Abecedarians are so fun! And you do them so very well!
Haha. I was thinking you had so many great lines, then I busted out laughing at the end...as I sit here, holding my phone.
"Killing you with them is a font of joy!" Hehehehehe that was my favourite line! Loved your poem!
Clever and cute. Highlighting your personality, spotlighting your unbelievable talent with an adorable playfulness. If I had a hat, I would tip it now
Another fun abecedarian, D.J!
