I will no longer police my feelings
For royalty sitting on a throne of lies.
I’ll not kneel on a floor of shit,
To appease their empty, puling cries.
I will reclaim my space.
I will reclaim my time.
I will reclaim my body.
I will reclaim what’s mine.
I do not need to beg
I do not need to bow and scrape.
I do not need to give up control
I do not need to change my shape.
I am allowed to be here.
To take the things I need
For the first time since I was six,
I am following my own lead.
