Rebirth

Serpent

By Candice DoylePublished 2 years ago Updated 2 years ago 1 min read

From golden brown to milky blue eyes.

Stunted in my statue, visions once crisp now blurry to blind. +++¹

Here and there

Slithering through this journey of time.

Bright vivid scales fade to pale under a rock I hide.

Suffocating decomposing flesh I leave this ecdysis behind.

I have outgrown this suite of mine.

I wasn't born to be confined.

Through death and rebirth I erect with strength a lengthened spine.

Renewed colorful predator you best not test this mind.

Enchanting dance persuades a rhythmic trance to hypnotize.

Fright you scatter, The Locomotion of my moves was designed to cause a commotion.

For the Venom that runs deep in my fangs is not a poison but love

Crossed threatened you will feel the distortion.

Unrelenting choking grip to the poisonous bite. Consider yourself lucky if you can think twice. Next time I might not be so nice.
