When this very hour returns NEXT year,
Who knows where we’ll be, or who we’ll belong to then.
We’ll be trapped in the wreckage of our separate lives,
You won’t know my way, and I won’t know yours.
This place where we sit together today,
God knows whose silence will fill it tomorrow.
And as I stand on the edge of goodbye,
I can’t stop wondering:
If we ever MEET again, how much of you will be GONE.
.
happy/sad NEW YEAR!!

This poem is quietly heartbreaking.
I really like the title of this. I've been in this place and it's tough place to be, but we move on and grow out of what we thought we beededzs
You’ve really captured that strange in-between feeling that I often feel at this time of year.
This seems like a balanced perspective and it feels thought provoking. Great job!
A thoughtful way to look at the new year and the passing of time. Bravo, lovely Komal!
Don't worry about the past or the future. Just live today. Smile. Relax a bit and bathe in the sunlight. There is always something new coming your way, for sure. But that's the best part of living. When was the last time you did something for the first time? Happy New Year, dear Komal.
Indeed, we don't know what the year has in store...but may it be filled with blessings. To a happy, fulfilling year ahead, my friend!!
Your introspection is both thoughtful and provoking. Excellent work, Komal.
A poignant look at the changes time makes in us all. 👏👏✨🎉
I love it, a new, sad, and relatable perspective on the new year!
