Reasons to live

Who knew a crooked key could open a door?

Without fear the cat jumps of the wall

Look at the belly of the seagull flying over head

Smooth the hair shooting from your skin

Hats off to the bin men carrying all our trash

Do you hear the sound of the car starting up?

Do you see the tree shedding its leaves?

Look a little girl holding daddy’s hand

The laughter of the birds

The sound of your wife’s voice

The opening of the doctors door

The unblocking of your nose

Hands to keep the door open for someone

Never waking up without my head

Goosebumps forming to trap warm air next to my skin

My therapeutic approach to taking out the trash

Befriending mistakes to never give up

Thank you to the chlorophyll for the green I see in the leaves

My mission and my dreams are the veins on my hand

Transforming our landscape is the job of the birds

Breathing oxygen to love the keys in my voice

Who knew a crooked key could open a door?

Memories brought on by a fragrance, goes in through the nose

The reason why I am awake is not for myself, but for someone

A good friend once told me to share my whispers with the wall

Mistorizers protect my skin

Writing anyway, who cares if it’s trash

To win at the days depression, all I need is to look up

The clouds smiling down at the leaves

To stare and catch them in my hand

A nod to the feathers of the birds

Waking up to the sound of their voice

Protected from the outside in, is the vision of my door

Notice that we are one, by the presence of our nose

There is no joy in this world unless I am in it for someone.

Remove the wall

To clear your head

You are a treasure not the trash

Your words mean everything to us, look up

See the beauty in those falling leaves.

Gorgeous work! This line really stuck out to me: "To win at the days depression, all I need is to look up" 🤗❤️ Wonderful!

  • I think my favourite would be the unblocking of my nose hehehehe. Loved your poem!

I love the underlying gratefulness, and dare I say contentment, in this poem.

You don't need anyone, you're soaring high. Keep hanging out with Mistorizer. In Greek, the word means secret root, that's why you have healthy skin and I imagine hair.
