It’s not crazy if it’s true,
Trading memories with you.
Taking chances no one would,
Just to see what folks would do.
Jump through hoops to stay with me,
To keep my attention.
If I get bored, I’ll wander
And begin a new deception.
You can have my time.
It’s all I have that’s free.
Everything else will cost you,
That’s reality.
But never show your fear to me,
I need someone strong.
Let me live in my illusions,
That's where I belong.
Blocking out the faces
Of the ones who gave me pain.
Erasing any details
Of the memories that remain.
I make no apologies,
And I don’t need excuses.
Being honest with myself
And others, has its uses.
