A Poem

Reaching out for something I know that I can't touch

Believing every song and every line about love

Holding on until my hands bleed

Declaring I am all that I need

Wondering if maybe I should give up...

Laughing about our youth spent along the shore

Tired of the hole in me always wanting more

Day to day, it all stays the same

If it all stays the same

Then why do things always change?

Waiting on you

Waiting on me

To fly above it all

But here I lie

Ever tired

After every takeoff

The inevitable fall...

Skipping every bad dream that plays behind my eyes

Rewinding every memory of the Starry Sky

How time really does fly...

Reaching out my window to every sunrise

Believing in every hope behind every sigh

I wonder, do you ever feel as I?
