I reached for you,

You reached for me.

It wasn't really planned,

But when we touched,

The magic sparked.

I felt my heart expand.

**

I reached. You reached.

We touched again,

I knew it then and there.

That this was

The beginning

Of the answer to my prayer.

**

We never felt

The need to reach

For anybody new.

Because if either

Had a need,

The other would come through.

**

I reached for you,

You reached for me,

We walked life hand in hand.

And looking back,

Our lifelong love,

Is rare in any land.

**

I reached for you,

but now you're gone.

Your absence left a hole.

Some sweet, fine day,

We'll reach again,

Where I can touch your soul.

    So romantic. Soulmates finally collided.

  • Beautiful, it is wonderful to reach out and care for each other and then touch

This is so tender and heartfelt. The closing lines especially carry such a bittersweet beauty. 💜

  • That last stanza was so sad. Loved your poem!
