Waves swell in darkness.
Elvis changed all the light bulbs.
Blue! The gospel breaks.
(Note: My haiku is based on a true story which I was told when I visited RCA Studio B in Nashville. Elvis was always on a killer schedule to record there, singing through the night. So in order to summon up whatever he needed to sing gospel he would get all the light bulbs swapped for blue ones. I find that incredibly moving and fascinating. During my visit they played a recording of Elvis talking to all the musicians in between recording numerous versions of a song. It was such an insight into how driven he was to deliver exactly what it was he felt called to do.)
