Raw and ragged

Effort with no fruit

Alone and lonely

No will to reach

Optimistic without reason

Searching with no target

Limp and impotent

Craving communion and companion

No luck and no design

Floating with no power

From one frail branch to the next

As each one snaps expectedly

Familiar falling

Noted nihilism

Darkness embraced

Silver lining of a black hole

My only solace

Beckoning me to last the night

As I flail and poke for purpose

Scrape and claw to be normal

Serving out advice on pure intuition

Hollow gestures and cliche quotes

Chip away at what is left

Nothing real

Nothing worth the pain

Nothing to gain

No one to love
