The Miracles Of First And Last Times

Rarely - do we understand what we have, while we still have it, what it was worth, before we lost it, or how to love, at any cost.

But when we do...

Our eyes are no longer able to unsee the rare phenomenon in our current situations.

*

When your heart surrenders to another, and you feel a surge of life. You could survive anything with this lover, as a husband or a wife.

Your first car, house and job, that you earned all by yourself. That kind of pride and confidence can't come from anybody else.

The first breath of your child, and the first steps that they take. A new, selfless love emerges from this creation that you made.

That day you say goodbye to someone that you love. Comfort comes from the thought; they are watching from above.

We assume, by definition, rare means infrequently. But if we look a little closer rare is much easier to see.

It's true, rare does not always happen in firework moments to amaze us and astound. But when we pay attention, we discover, there is much rarer, to be found.

It occurs in everyday moments, that we have become accustomed to. We miss the spectacular in the stillness, not believing this is true.

Not because we are callous, but because we've been made to believe, these moments of rare are lesser than the ones that we perceive.

In a moment of clarity, life changes. And THAT, is rare.
