Rapt in the Tar

Scathed in the process

Your love isn’t worthwhile because you only give it to me in halves,

but that's your trick.

You always keep me hungry for more.

I’m done binging you.

You're sickening.

It is too much to bear.

No matter what you do,

I always come back for seconds.

I always come back.

Who bears the pain?

It's us: it's everyone single one of us.

If you can scold,

then I can sing,

and belt into serenades.

To refrain from abhorrence is to be proactive.

Godforsaken reasons why I stay will be the death of me.

Cautious as ever, I betake myself to my quiet room.

Ambivalence is a thorn in my back.

Grimaces after disagreeing with you are routine.

That is the least vile reaction I could ask.
