The dark of evening has fallen
The chickens have gone to roost
The lightning bugs have come again
A night-time symphony is introduced
Enter the opossum
Enter the raccoon
Starting a routine that is awesome
Under the nighttime moon

Cluck cluck cluck
Says the hen
Cheep cheep cheep
Says the chick
Boch boch boch
Says the rooster
Right before he lets
out his mighty crow

The moon’s reflection
On the surface of the pond
Is a cause for inspection
It makes one think of a magical wand
And portals to a distant land
Of fairies, elves and other creatures of myth
So walk with me and take my hand
And let us be more than kith.
