The god of rain

There is the Rain god, Raine. He was born when the God of Sky met with the lovely Goddess of Earth. The two were in harmony and had a child unexpectedly.

Raine fell from the sky, landing upon the earth. He looked around knowing not where he was, only where he wanted to go.

“To return to heaven, shall be my flow.”

And so he set out. He crossed through the river bed. He traveled across the landscape. Through caves and caverns, and down the mountainside. Eventually, he came across Mistress Sea.

“Oh Mistress Sea, will you take me to see heaven? I have fallen far from and seem to not be able to get back.”

“Raine, you must stick with me. I will take you into the skies, and from there you can enter heaven.”

And so Raine joined with Sea. Together they overflowed the earth and caused damage to the human settlements. The Sky Father looked down and summoned up the Sea, and with her, Raine followed. But at the flood gates of heaven, the Sky Father said:

“Oh lovely mistress, you may enter here as always. But for you Raine, a bastard child of mine, you can never enter. You must return to your mother.”

And so the Sky Father tore Raine into a million pieces and sent them crashing to earth.

Once Raine returned he cried and ran. He ran to where he met with Sea and found an empty void. He took to the crater and filled it with himself. He prayed to his father to send him the Sea, and to his mother to send him the river.

His father replied, “My son, the sea is a part of you.”

And his mother said, “My son, the rivers are yours.”

And so Raine took the sea and filled the rivers. They bore many children: swamp, mud, humidity, and fog.
