Raindrops To Quench the Thirst of the Dry Land
Water: the elixir of life

A single raindrop fell
Onto the parched earth
But vanished before you could tell
More drops of greater worth
In a steady stream, they fell
An elixir for the birth
Of miracles yet to come.
***🌧️🌧️🌧️***
The dry earth called for more
To provide a beauty yet unseen
Green grass and flowers like before
Red dirt turns to shades of green
Flowers come from seeds, pastel colors to restore
As the landscape turns serene
Earth gives flowers not seen before.
***🌧️🌧️🌧️***
And animals that lay dormant
Spring to life from their deep sleep
To create the next instalment
Their presence they must keep
As part of this wonderful assortment
With its variety so unique
The lifecycle of the desert is now nearly complete.
***🌧️🌧️🌧️***
[Author's note: A Septet poem with a rhyming pattern ABABABC, pictures how rain rejuvenates savanna lands like the Kalahari Desert in Africa.
The dry season lasts eight months or more, and the wet season typically from less than one month to four months. Some annual plants germinate, bloom, and die within a few weeks after rainfall.
Some animals remain dormant for long periods, ready to become active again during the rare rainfall. They then reproduce rapidly while conditions are favorable before returning to dormancy.]
Till next time,

A serene and hopeful piece, evoking a sense of wonder at the power of nature’s smallest gifts, like a single raindrop. Amazing and it was nice to read a poem in a new style from you, it was wonderful, Sir 😊
