Raindrop Crystals

Winter Tree Crystals

The small, gray-barked tree,

splotched with white and

speckled in green moss,

waited.

**

She waited until the

sprinkles stopped, and

as the sky broke from gray

to brilliant blue,

she waited -

for me.

**

As she waited, now under an azure sky,

she bedazzled her tiny buds

with raindrops,

knowing her glistening crystals

would spark a light in my eyes

as I walked by under the now blue sky.

This a lovely poem, Andrea. I could see and feel the impact of the scene as I read it. 'as I walked by under the now blue sky.' is a perfect ending to the poem!
