they call me the rain bush
because here it rains
a pool for life but the deep remains
the darkest place you'd want to be
the sunlight i can't help you see
but when you do
come tell me all
tell me tales of the storms and beats,
and travelers and mountains and sun blessed peaks
and i, short, stubble, brackish, brash
a late october bound summer's laugh
i'll wait for you to speak to me
all the things you want to be
i will wish you your future
i remember mine
a giant tree that kiss the sun
and warms face and touches some
to help them grow, no distance too far
id sing with winds and sway with war
although i'll never be great and grand
ill listen to your daring plan
please take my water to your lips
drop a coin into the midst
of disappointment, wet and deep
for i, i am, simple and weak
because i ran and shrouded, sore
it is not my time anymore
do what i once thought in my hand
never shy; I know you'll stand
the water i weep it does for you
may your troubles be far and few
never wake, for down here you'll be
and never rush to be me
